This week Jessica and I implemented chamomile tea every night and continued with the Ketosis style meal plan. We also included the recipes so Alex is able to quickly access how to make it and what ingredients she needs to buy for the week. In a study using rats, chamomile extract helped sleep-disturbed rodents fall asleep. Many researchers believe that chamomile tea may function like a benzodiazepine. Benzodiazepines are prescription drugs that can reduce anxiety and induce sleep. Some research suggests that chamomile binds to benzodiazepine receptors.

Client Feedback-
- what did you like about the intervention? “Again I really enjoyed the variety the meals you gave me like each thing was different throughout the day. So yeah that as really good”
- What did you not like about the intervention? “Some of the meals were really really complicated to make and I didn’t always have time to do that, but it was better than last week”.
- what would you like to change or improve?“I would like to improve the lunch meals as although they where better than last week they where still difficult to bring to school”
- Did you feel ill or fatigue throughout the intervention?“No I didn’t actually. I feel like the meals gave me enough protein and energy to last all day and in between each of the meals as well”
- Was there anything you couldn’t eat in the intervention?“I wasn’t allergic to anything specifically but I just struggled to finish the meals that I really didn’t enjoy, but otherwise it was good and I enjoyed the Ketosis diet”
- Was it helpful to improve your sleep? ” yes, especially the camomile tea, that was the best, I felt really relaxed and slept well though out the night.”
Reflection-
- What can Jess and I improve? I think we could possibly give Alex the recipes so she is well aware what recipe we want her to follow as it can cause there to be different health benefits such as one recipe is very healthy and the other is not.
- What went well in my opinion? I think that we should continue using ketosis foods as well as using chamomile tea into the intervention. Chamomile contains antioxidants that may promote sleepiness, and drinking chamomile tea has been shown to improve overall sleep quality.
